Frequently asked questions

Useful answers before your project begins.

Bespoke work varies by material, size, artwork and use. These answers explain the normal starting point without promising a production method before the product has been checked.

Enquiries & artwork

Do I need finished artwork before I enquire?

No. A sketch, photograph, existing product, logo or written description is enough to begin. Finished artwork requirements can be confirmed once the product and process are understood.

Which artwork files are best?

AI, EPS, SVG and correctly exported vector PDFs are normally preferred for logos, lettering and cut paths. High-resolution PNG or JPG files may suit photographs and full-colour image work.

Can you work from a spreadsheet or sign schedule?

Yes. A spreadsheet is useful for changing names, numbers, locations, quantities and URLs. Use one row per item and keep supporting filenames aligned with the schedule reference.

What should I include for an accurate quotation?

Send the product type, dimensions, quantity, material if known, exact wording, artwork, intended environment, fixing method, changing information and target date.

Can I attach files to the enquiry?

The online project brief accepts up to three files with a combined limit of 10 MB: artwork, a schedule or drawing, and a site or reference photograph. List larger or specialist files for separate transfer.

Production & materials

Making the product

What is the maximum laser working area?

The P3 feed-through allows engraving or cutting up to 610 × 2400 mm, subject to compatible material, safe handling and the specific job. Product height can be up to 180 mm where positioning and focus allow.

What is the maximum direct UV print area?

The maximum direct print area is 420 × 320 mm on suitable products up to 150 mm high. Shape, fixtures, edge clearance and surface features can reduce the usable area.

Can you engrave and UV print the same acrylic piece?

Yes, where the material and design are suitable. Engraved detail can be colour-detailed or registered with UV print. A sample can confirm depth, alignment, opacity and adhesion.

Can a CO₂ laser mark metal?

Selected metals can be surface marked with a suitable laser-marking spray or compound. This creates a bonded contrasting surface mark; it is not deep engraving and it does not cut or remove the metal. Samples are required.

Can you print on a product I supply?

Potentially. We need the product material, coating, dimensions, available flat area and photographs before confirming suitability. An unfamiliar surface may require adhesion or finish testing.

Can you make a prototype before a repeat order?

Yes. A physical sample or short development run can check size, fit, bend, artwork position, material and finish before a repeatable range is agreed.

Orders & approval

Quantities, timing & repeat work

Do you accept one-off projects?

One-off bespoke pieces, prototypes, short runs and repeatable business ranges can all be discussed. The practical minimum depends on the setup, material and production method.

How long will my project take?

Timing is confirmed after the specification, artwork, quantity, material availability and any sample requirement are understood. Include your target date with the enquiry so feasibility can be discussed before approval.

Will I approve the design before production?

Key wording, layout, dimensions, material and production details are agreed before manufacture. Projects involving unfamiliar materials, bends, loads or surface marking may need a physical sample as well.

Can you produce changing names or numbers?

Yes. Names, room numbers, pitch numbers, asset references and other variable information can be supplied in a checked spreadsheet and applied to an approved layout.

Can I reorder matching items later?

Repeat production is easier when the approved artwork, material, size and item reference remain consistent. State that replacements or expansion orders are expected so the range can be structured accordingly.

Can you create QR-linked signs and plaques?

Yes. Supply the complete final URL for each code. The destination and scan result should be checked as part of the approved layout before production.

Are the website images finished products?

They are illustrative product concepts showing possible applications. Final artwork, materials, sizes, finishes, specifications and suitability are agreed for each real order.

Still deciding?

Describe the outcome you need.

You do not need to select the production method yourself. Send the intended use, approximate size, quantity and available artwork, and we can discuss the next step.
